Grounded in listening
OTL fosters a collaborative environment by actively listening to and incorporating perspectives of instructors, staff, and students, recognizing expertise, experience and disciplinary contexts.
Informed by reflection and assessment
OTL encourages regular self-reflection among educators and students, paired with continuous assessment to refine and enhance teaching and learning.
Designed to increase equity
OTL’s activities are designed to promote inclusivity, fairness, and equality of opportunities.
Asset-based
OTL instructional activities recognize and leverage the strengths and capabilities inherent in students, faculty, and staff.
Data-driven
OTL uses multiple types of research and data to inform campus discussions, choices, strategies, and improvements to teaching and learning.
